Join the Chamber for a lunch discussion with Supervisor David Chiu.
Supervisor Chiu was elected in November 2008 to represent San Francisco's District 3. District 3 includes North Beach, Chinatown, Telegraph Hill, Russian Hill, Polk Street, Nob Hill, Union Square, Financial District, Barbary Coast and Fisherman's Wharf.
Supervisor Chiu is the President of the Board of Supervisors, a member of the Government Audit & Oversight Committee, Joint City & School District Committee, and Transportation Authority.
Updates from Supervisor Chiu’s office at City Hall:
- Business Tax Reform: the Mayor and Supervisor Chiu jointly introduced gross receipts tax legislation for the November ballot. A revised version will be acted on by the Board of Supervisors by the end of July.
- Elections: Supervisor Chiu is sponsoring legislation for incorporating Run-Off Elections into Ranked-Choice Voting for the office of Mayor. This would allow San Francisco voters to rank up to three candidates the office of the Mayor, with a December top two run-off if no candidate received a majority of first place votes.
- CPMC $2.5 billion project: Supervisor Chiu continues to question the City’s proposed development agreement with CPMC for the two new hospitals, a major public health project supported by the Chamber.
Join the Chamber for the lunch discussion with Supervisor Chiu to learn more about his involvement in these and other important issues affecting Bay Area businesses July 18th.
